Athletic Extreme Performance After Inguinal Hernia Surgery

We congratulate our patient, Christoph Harreither, who achieved an athletic extreme performance just a few weeks after his successful minimally invasive inguinal hernia surgery. He writes to us:

5 weeks remained until my competition in the jungle of Northern Thailand - an ultramarathon covering 500 kilometers and 25,000 meters of elevation gain nonstop, meaning continuously in one go (day & night).

Returning from training, I discovered the inguinal hernia and searched online for an expert in Vienna. I found OA Dr. Viktor Frieders-Justin, contacted him via mobile phone, and immediately received an appointment.

The decision for surgery was made after his thorough examination and a brief consultation. His expert diagnosis, professional healing prognosis, and risk assessment formed the basis for this decision. The surgery took place after just a few days. Many believed that my plan to start this race was unrealistic. I trusted the statements and assessments of Dr. Frieders-Justin. Four weeks after surgery, I stood at the starting line. I completed the race without limitations. What support, thank you very much!!

We are pleased that we could contribute to the successful competition and take our hat off to this incredible achievement.
